With these powerful horsepower locomotives, KTM management should solicit for more freight. KTM should also reactivate those ICDs and Inland ports to promote intermodal system. New areas for inland ports should be identified especially with the double tracking almost completed. There also so much potential for dry and liquid bulk cargo. A strong marketing and sales department should be formed to tap on these potentials. The Land Bridge service should be reintroduced. FM and TS were contributing well for this service on behalf of KTM. It sad to see so many Bogie Container Flats lying ideal at the various marshaling yards. KTM should participate in the inter port container transfers.
There is also high potential for the South Thailand container exports via Penang Port.
